Getting started with BlueJayTelehealth App



BlueJayTelehealth is a HIPPA compliant, AI-powered video solution for you to securely meet your healthcare providers online. To start using BlueJayTelehealth, download the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.

Before you start using BlueJay, please make sure your system and device meet the minimum requirements.

 iOS System & Device

  • iOS 9.0 and above 
  • iPhone 5S and later version
  • iPad Air 2 and later version
  • iPad Mini and later version

Android System & Device

  • You can use any Android device that supports Android 5.2 or the later versions. 

Bandwidth requirement: 

Video

  • 1:1 call: 650 kbps up and down
  • HD mode: 1400 kbps up and down
  • 3–4 people: 450 kbps up and (N-1)*400 kbps down
  • 5–16 people: 184 kbps up and (N-1)*134 kbps down
  • Up and down bandwidth adapts lower based on network conditions

Screen

  • 1.2 mbps up (when presenting) and down (when viewing) for high quality. This adapts as low as 320 kbps based on network conditions.
  • Remote control: 800 kbps fixed


To accept a video call from your health provider, please do the following:

Step 1. Click on the text message/email link to launch the meeting on your mobile device. 

Enter your meeting ID and name if needed. Then, make a selection from the following options of the user roles. The options include "Patient", "Caregiver", "Provider", and "Other". 

Step 2. If you are joining the meeting as a patient, please read the telehealth consent form carefully, then click on the "Agree" button to continue.

Note: You will not be allowed to enter the meeting room without giving the consent. 

Step 3. Once your meeting has begun, you will see the following screen (left). Tab on your mobile screen, you will see the menu at the bottom. Be sure your audio and video are on. The switch button allows you to switch between the front camera and back camera during the call. 

During the video call, if your healthcare provider sends any exercise video. The video will be displayed on the top of your screen. 

Moreover, BlueJayTelehealth Mobile App allows you to view other people's shared screens. 

If you would like to share your screen with the other meeting participants, please log on from a desktop/laptop. 

Step 4. You can also chat with your healthcare provider or the other meeting participants during a telecall.

Step 5. If you have more than four people in a meeting. You can tap on the "arrow" button on your right-hand side (circled in the following image) to see the other meeting participants.
