Getting Started with BlueJay - Outpatient Super Admin



Before you start using BlueJay, please make sure your system meets our requirements.


BlueJay 8.0.5 introduces a new way to organize all the outpatient provider-patient activities skillfully. This article aims to help the outpatient admins to set up and maintain the outpatient provider-patient database, and other operations. 


1. Set up your outpatient clinic database.

To add clinics, simply go to "Manage Providers" > select a desired "Region" from the dropdown menu > go to the first tab -"Clinic" > click on the "Add Clinic" button to enter a clinic. 

You will be promted to enter "Clinic Name" and "Clinic Address", once you finished, click on the "Save" button to create this clinic.

2. Add providers into BlueJay system 

Now, you have your first clinic entered, let's add providers into this clinic. You can use the "View Providers" option or click on the second tab - "Providers" to go to your provider database. 

Click on the "Add Provider" button to enter a new provider user. You can also use the "Clinics" filter to switch clinics. 

Enter this provider's First Name, Last Name, Email, User Type, and Speciality. If this provider is clinic admin, please select the checkbox to assign admin role. When you finished, click on the "Add to Subscription" button. 

Need to update an existing provider's profile? Click on the pencil icon to edit his/her profile.

Having providers work for multiple clinics? Click on the "Assign Clinic" button under "Action" and select all the locations that apply.

Your therapist already have a BlueJay SNF account? Don't worry, we got this covered. 

Open the "Clinics" dropdown menu > select "Not in Clinic", then you will see a list of providers who already have a SNF account. Find your therapist, and click on the "Assign Clinic" button to add him/her to an outpatient clinic. 

3. Enter or Transfer patients

Use the "Add Patient" button to add a new patient. Same as the "Providers" tab, you also use the top filter to switch clinic. 

Fill in the required information (with a red star). When you finished, click on "Save".

Click on the pencil icon to edit an existing patient. To transfer your patient to another clinic, simply click on the "Assign Clinic" button.

You can also add an individual patient while scheduling an appointment. 

Patient is discharged from SNF? 

Select "Not in Clinic & SNF" from the dropdown menu. You can use the search box to help you to locate your patient. Then, click on the " Assign Clinic" button to add the patient into an outpatient clinic. 

If you see the following pop-up, that means either patient's phone number or email address is missing. Please fill out the missing info by using the pencil icon.
